Summary of 2012 Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold




Lee Sheng Mu / Fang Chieh Min and  Lee Hyun Il take runners-up spots at the Swiss Open


 Chinese Taipei’s Lee Sheng Mu / Fang Chieh Min took second place in the men’s doubles


Lee Sheng Mu / Fang Chieh Min, Chinese Taipei’s a leading men’s doubles pair, went down 21:13, 21:14 to Japanese pair  Shoji Sato/Naoki Kawamae in the final at the Swiss Open, taking second place. Chinese Taipei’s head coach, Zhang Zheng Xiong, said the pair were clearly out of sorts on the day, the usually solid defense at the heart of the defense and counterattack strategy they usually execute so adeptly couldn’t keep out the attacks of their opponents; their impatience led to them making too many mistakes, putting them at the mercy of their opponents...<FULL ARTICLE>

Jung Jae Sung / Lee Yong Dae take the All-England men’s doubles title





Jung Jae Sung/ Lee Yong Dae took their first title of the year




The final of the All-England men’s doubles title saw Jung Jae Sung / Lee Yong Dae take on Cai Yun / Fu Hai Feng. An almost full-house saw this duel between two of the leading men’s doubles pairs. The result saw  Jung Jae Sung / Lee Yong Dae beat the pair from China 21:23,21:9 and 21:14 to take the All-England title again after their 2008 win...FULL ARTICLE

All England Open:Tai Tzu Ying won in WS quarter-final



Chinese Taipei’s talented female shuttler Tai Tzu Ying delivered a sensational performance in the Women’s Singles quarter-final when she defeated Sung Ji Hyun of Korea in All England Open Premier Super Series 2012 in Birmingham, on Friday, March 9.

BWF World Rankings for February 2012

There were only small changes in top 10 players in the world rankings for February announced by the BWF on March 1 as every player is trying their best in every tournament to accumulate Olympic qualifying points.

Apart from Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei who holds firmly onto number one spot in the men’s singles rankings for February, the rankings for all the other disciplines are headed by players from China. Summary of the 2012 German Open Badminton Championships

South Korea take three silver medals

In the mixed doubles, South Korea’s Ha Jung Eun / Lee Yong Dae lost 19:21,16:21 to Denmark’s Kamilla Rytter Juhl / Thomas Laybourn.

In the women’s doubles final, South Korea’s Jung Kyung Eun / Kim Ha Na were up against China’s Tang Jin Hua / Xia Huan. With the first game at deuce the South Korean’s made a few errors and went down 21:23. In the hard fought second game the two pairs were evenly matched at 13 all before the South Korean’s fell back, losing 13:21, taking the runners-up spot....FULL ARTICLE

Yong Dae, who has won two men’s doubles crowns in Germany and is the defending champion with Jung Jae Sung, has had to work extra hard as he has played eight matches en route to the final.
