Summary of Badminton Asia Championships 2012


Kim Ki Jung / Kim Sa Rang take the men’s doubles title at the Badminton Asia Championships 2012

The young South Korean pairing of Kim Ki Jung / Kim Sa Rang defeated Japan’s Endo Hiroyuki / Kenichi Hayakawa 21:12, 21:16 to take the men’s doubles title at the Badminton Asia Championships 2012.


The pair were unseeded but knocked out a series of seeded pairs from the last 16 stage, knocking out third seeds, Japan’s renowned pair Shoji Sato / Naoki Kawamae, eighth seeds Liu Xiao Long / Qiu Zi Han, championship top seed and local favorites Chai Biao / Guo Zhen Dong and championship sixth seeds Endo Hiroyuki / Kenichi Hayakawa of Japan in succession. The two Kims didn’t drop a single game in their five matches in the Badminton Asia Championships 2012 and, moreover, took out all their opponents in straights games, showing that they are on top form at the moment.......<FULL ARTICLE>

BWF World Rankings for March 2012



The BWF released the latest world rankings on April 5. In the 2012 All England Open Badminton Championships and the Swiss Open in March Victor stars did outstandingly and all are now well on their way to London for the Olympics.
 
The world number ones for the five badminton disciplines are: men’s singles: Lee Chong Wei, men’s doubles: Cai Yun/Fu Hai Feng, women’s single: Wang Yi Han, women’s doubles: Wang Xiao Li/Yu Yang and mixed doubles:Zhang Nan/Zhao Yun Lei.

Victor Stars Performed Excellently at the Australian Open 2012


VICTOR Stars take one gold medal and four silvers at the Australian Badminton Open 2012

The Australian Badminton Open 2012 was held from April 3 to April 8. The results for the various disciples were as follows:in the mixed doubles, Chinese Taipei’s Cheng Wen Hsin / Chen Hung Lin took the title, with Malaysia’s Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying /taking second place; in the men’s doubles, Indonesia’s Kido/Setiawan took the title, with Chinese Taipei’s Lee Sheng Mu / Fang Chieh Min in second place;the women’s doubles title was taken by China’s Luo Ying/Luo Yu, with Chinese Taipei’s Cheng Wen Hsin / Chien Yu Chin taking second place; in the women’s singles, China’s Han Li took the title, with South Korea’s Bae Youn Joo in second; in the men’s single Chen Jin of China grabbed the title, with Vietnam’s Nguyen Tien Minh in runners-up spot. ...<FULL ARTICLE>

Australian Open: Wen Hsing Cheng stun in semi-final


Australian Open: Wen Hsing Cheng / Yu Chin Chien stun Miyuki Maeda /Satoko Suetsuna in semi-final



Chinese Taipei’s Wen Hsing Cheng and Yu Chin Chien surprised everyone by delivering a spectacular performance in Women’s Doubles qualifying round when they outplayed the top seeds Miyuki Maeda and Satoko Suetsuna of Japan at Australian Open GP Gold on Saturday, April 7, in Australia.

Australian Open: Nguyen Tien Minh struggles against Chan Kwong Beng in Men’s Singles round-of-16
