The nine most important skills of badminton : 3.Net shot

Hello everyone, I’m coach Chou.

Today I’d like to show everyone the net shot, a basic shot when we are moving from attack to defense. The action is: With the same leg as the racket hand forward, use the forearm to push the racket forward and send the shuttlecock over the net, the closer to the net the better.

Summary of 2012 BWF World Superseries Finals


The curtain came down on a successful BWF Super Series Finals 2012; even though a few top players pulled out due to injury, the ones that did compete served up a feast of top class badminton for spectators.

China was the biggest winner, taking three golds and three silver medals,with Denmark, which took two golds and a silver in the three doubles disciplines, not far behind.... <FULL ARTICLE>

2012 BWF World Ranking up to December 6


A new world badminton era is on its way!

Following the international tournaments held in November, the BWF world rankings released on December 7 showed clear changes.

The members of the “Top 10 Club” in the first half of this year are facing a serious challenge from new generation players. China’s women’s singles player Li Xue Rui has accumulated a large number of points in the last 12 months, has shot up the rankings and is now less than 400 points behind current world No. 1 Wang Yi Han. Peter Gade, Jung Jae Sung, Lee Hyun Il and other top players who retired after the London Olympics are also gradually disappearing from the “Top 10 Club.”

2012 Korea Grand Prix Gold MD winner Lee Yong Dae / Ko Sung Hyun


Lee Yong Dae gave the crowd in his hometown just what they wanted as he and Ko Sung Hyun took the men’s doubles title at the 2012 VICTOR Korea Grand Prix Gold in Lee Yong Dae Gymnasium in Hwasun.

In the women’s doubles, Korea’s Eom Hye Won / Jang Ye Na refused to cede a second straight Macau Open final to a pair of compatriots.  After failing to finish last year’s final against Jung Kyung Eun / Kim Ha Na, Eom and Jang, who just made their entry into the world’s top 10 last week, beat out their understudies Choi Hye In  / Kim So Young 21-18, 21-16. South Korea has to settle for second in the men’s doubles at the China Open Super Series Premier

South Korea pair Lee Yong Dae / Ko Sung Hyun fell to top seeds, Denmark’s Mogensen/Boe, in straights games in the men’s doubles final at the China Open Super Series Premier, having to make do with the runners-up spot.

Lee Yong Dae was keen to get revenge against the Danes after losing to them at the London Olympics but Lee / Ko went down 15:21 in the first game. After swapping ends, the South Koreans were unable to attack effectively and turn the match around, losing the second game 16:21 and the match 0:2 after having played for 50 minutes finishing in second place... <FULL ARTICLE>
