The World Badminton Championships is a one-off tournament staged by the BWF that is amongst the top tournaments in the world. Just like the Olympics, the world’s premier players have a chance at the World Badminton Championships to be crowned “world champion”, so it is regarded with great importance by all professional players.
The Championships is held every year apart from an Olympic Games year (like 2012) when it is not held to let players focus on the Olympics. At the last Championship in 2011, all five titles were claimed by PRC players (men’s singles: Lin Dan, women’s singles Wang Yi Han, men’s doubles Cai Yun／Fu Hai Feng, women’s doubles: Yu Yang／Wang Xiao Li, mixed doubles: Zhang Nan／Zhao Yun Lei)
The BWF World Badminton Championships 2013 will held in Guangzhou, China August 5-11. A number of VICTOR stars have been selected to play for their national teams and are getting ready to play their best on the home turf of the PRC team.
