India Sports Expo 2014: VICTOR Defines New Vision in India

VICTOR has been announced as the Official Badminton Partner for the India Sports Expo, which is one of VICTOR’s initial moves to incubate its visions in Indian badminton.

The deal sees VICTOR join as one of the top exhibitors for the event, where over 200 Indian and International businesses are expected to gather at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi on November 6 to 8. On display will also be VICTOR’s latest badminton collection including star limited products, player’s kits, footwear, and rackets.

Over the years, VICTOR has been delivering initiatives to help with the development of badminton on a global perspective and has always valued India’s potential in the sport. VICTOR signed an endorsement deal with Indian professional player and Commonwealth Games gold medalist Ashwini Ponnappa in 2013, who just recently joined the filming of the unexposed 2015 “READY TO WIN” brand video, aligning with some of the sport’s superstars in team VICTOR, such as Olympic champion Lee Yong Dae of Korea and mixed doubles World Champions Liliyana Natsir and Tontowi Ahmad of Indonesia.

VICTOR will be the Official Badminton Partner for the India Sports Expo 2014 taking place 6-8 Nov.

Changes in the strategic marketing direction of the Taiwan-based global brand include the creation of an Indian branch office, which will enable better communication with the local market and a more structured supply chain and sales team that will meet the evolving needs of today’s badminton lovers and players.

“With the attention and passion India has shared followed by VICTOR’s team-up with Ashwini, we reckon it’s time and our responsibility to step up in the Indian market to start up a regional office to fulfill our goals and dreams,” said Joe Ko, head of VICTOR’s new India Branch.

“India has been recognized as the next big country with so many successful players coming up. We would love to engage what is an increasingly savvy group of Indian fans with the great values of the brand and our most creative innovations, with the joining and support of maybe a few more star faces in the future.”

VICTOR player Ashwini Ponnappa won a broze in this year's Badminton Asia Championships.

Organized by the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports of the Government of India, the India Sports Expo is one of the largest composite sports events in India, the host country of this year’s BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals. The last day of the event will be open to general visitors and sports fans.
